YUZU, A Tasting Menu Experience

OH Studio & eikcam ceramics are delighted to offer our third Tasting Menu Experience featuring the brightest citrus of all citrus, Yuzu.

in collaboration with local creatives including chocolate maker, Living Lotus Chocolate, food photographer & cook, Issha Marie & ceramicis & food tinkerer eikcam ceramics , we have curated a subtly sweet tasting menu featuring items that incorporate locally preserved yuzu.

This yuzu tasting set will reawaken your taste buds from a long, winter hiatus and you will experience a range of textures & sensations from chewy tart confections to warm, unctuous tea.

This menu serves one includes the vision of three locally based, woman creatives coming together to offer one incredible tasting experience:

Menu ( designed for one individual serving ) :

  • Yuzu confection ( golden, chewy candy ) / eikcam ceramics

  • 70% Peruvian Awajún dark w/chewy candied Yuzu ( vegan & GF ) / Living Lotus

  • Checkerboard sablé with spiced candied yuzu and freeze-dried strawberries, jasmine matcha & toasted rice flakes, kinako and turbinado sugar crust / Issha Marie

  • Brûlée Brown Butter Mochi with yuzu dust / eikcam ceramics

  • Wai'anae Coast, Hawaiian honey & yuzu tea

Ceramic mini scallop dish ( for yours to keep and use ) by eikcam ceramics.

Tea :

Each set will be paired with a Yuzu Honey tea with your tasting experience. It acts as a palate cleanser and enhancer. This warm tea is bright, slightly sour with slight floral notes.

The honey was sourced from small family farm on the Wai'anae Coast in Oahu, Hawaii. The honeybees forage on tropical blossoms, fruit trees & seasonal crops adding another level of depth to this whole tasting experience.

papercutting workshop with Toronto based Light + Paper

Papercutting workshop:

Learn the art of papercutting in this workshop suited for beginners. We will cover basic patterns and cutting techniques with a papercutting worksheet, and test out different blades and paper. You will learn how to design and cut your own original piece - and how best to frame your papercutting in frames provided.

JUNE 30 Sat / 11am - 2pm $85 ( Includes all materials and a hanging floating frame )

Please bring any images/ideas for your own piece - we will also provide a variety of sample images for inspiration.

Light + Paper bio:

Ali Harrison is a papercutting artist and owner of Light + Paper in Toronto, Canada. Though she has no formal arts training, Ali fell in love with papercutting after attempting to make one as a gift (using a kitchen cutting board and box cutter). Soon after that she armed herself with the proper tools and founded Light + Paper, where she recreates her hand-cut originals as a variety of lasercut art pieces. Ali uses repeating patterns in her work to represent iconic imagery, her most popular pieces being her organ collection; but also enjoys making small playful pieces with words and animals. Her work has been featured by publications such as My Modern Met, Design Milk, and This is Colossal, and she has created original pieces for the Art Gallery of Ontario and Roots Canada.

To register, you will be redirected to the OH studio site. We hope to see you at the workshop!
